Abstract

This article examines the importance of archive management in supporting administrative communication in various agencies, based on Archives Law Number 43 of 2009. Effective archive management not only functions as a documentation tool, but also as an important source of information that can be used in future decision making. coming. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach, where researchers examine various literature and documents relevant to archive management practices. The research results show that the archive management system at the Public Library and Archives Office is still manual, which has an impact on storage errors and difficulties in rediscovering archives. Many records are mixed between active and inactive records, making it difficult for employees to find the documents they need in a short time. In addition, poor management causes the potential for loss and damage to records, which in the end can disrupt the smooth running of administration. As a solution, this article recommends implementing a computerized system in dynamic archive management, which can increase the efficiency of archive creation, storage and rediscovery. In addition, the importance of training for employees in using the new system and good records management techniques was also emphasized. Increasing secure and well-maintained storage infrastructure is also recommended to protect archives from damage. Through better and systematic archive management, archives can function as authentic evidence that supports agency activities, which in turn will contribute to work effectiveness and efficiency. Therefore, this article highlights the importance of greater attention to records management as an integral part of information management in every organization.
